The composite band integrates piezoelectric and piezoresistive sensing: the piezo layer responds to dynamic deformation (respiration, heartbeat, body motion), while the piezoresistive layer reflects static pressure distribution and on-bed/off-bed state.
Why combine
A piezoelectric film responds to change and outputs nothing at rest; a piezoresistive layer measures constant pressure but is insensitive to faint heartbeat and respiration. Laminated together, a single band outputs both presence state and respiration and heart rate.
Specification make-up
The solution combines piezoelectric and piezoresistive sensing. The piezoelectric layer captures dynamic signals, while the piezoresistive layer detects changes in static load. Thickness, response threshold, load range and operating voltage are confirmed for the specific structure and test conditions.
