The sleep monitoring sensor captures heart rate, respiration and body-motion signals. The sensing layer combines piezoelectric film with printed conductive silver paste and a protective layer; the signal is led out through PIN terminals and processed by downstream circuits and algorithms to output heart rate and respiration data.
It is mounted in the mattress, parallel above or below the chest, or inside a pillow — no skin contact, no interference with sleep.
Why piezoelectric film
Chest movement from breathing and heartbeat is a small mechanical deformation. Piezoelectric film converts it directly into charge, requiring no external power and none of the continuous excitation or balancing a pressure sensor needs. The sensing element can therefore sit beneath a thick mattress without contact with the body.
